Started in 1997, Bhartiya Samruddhi Finance Ltd. (Samruddhi or BSFL) is a regulated non-banking finance company (NBFC) registered with the Reserve Bank of India, through which credit and technical assistance is delivered to almost 200,000 clients. It is the flagship of the BASIX Group, an Indian-based microfinance institution and one of the industry leaders in institutional development and mainstream financial sector linkages.

 

Through its “Livelihood Triad” Strategy, BSFL provides microfinance, institutional development, and agricultural and business development services. In its microfinance operations, BSFL works in rural areas, offering individual and group-based microcredit and insurance products. It also makes general purpose loans to self-help groups, which deliver credit and other services to poor women.

 

Samruddhi’s presence extends to over 5,000 villages in 28 districts spread over seven states: Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Orissa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan.
