ShoreCap Exchange held a three-day workshop on governance and leadership in Washington DC in September 2006, where each institution was represented by the CEO and two of their local board members. Key highlights of the Forum included individual governance and leadership mentoring sessions for institutions and CEOs, respectively. Eugene Ludwig, former Comptroller of the Currency, USA, led a day’s workshop on the role and importance of good governance, and John Sayres and Karen Dyers from the Center for Creative Leadership brainstormed with the group on the evaluation, measurement and enhancement of leadership skills for the benefit of the institution. Panel discussions (such as “Leading vs. Managing”) and lectures were interspersed with case studies and small group problem-solving.
