BRAC Bank Limited, a leading private commercial bank, launched Wednesday a branchless banking 'e- lobby' without manpower, the first of its kind in Bangladesh.

The new e-lobby, which offers the same financial services as the physical branches, will deliver faster and real-time services to the customers and reduce operational costs. It offers four Automated Teller Machines (ATM), three Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs), seven Internet Banking PCs and three direct connections to Bank's phone Banking. Initially, the bank's services will provide convenient and secured banking including deposit and cash withdrawal, inquiries any balance, transfer of funds from one account to another, statement of account, and provision of new cheque books. Within a few months, BRAC plans to roll out video conferences through the e-lobby, so that clients can talk to bank officials in the event of any necessity.
