Bank Description:

K-Rep Bank became the first microfinance commercial bank in Kenya in 1999, and has grown to become one of the largest commercial microfinance institutions in East Africa. The bank was established by K-Rep Group Limited, a Kenyan development agency involved in microfinance, research, advisory services, and a host of other development initiatives. K-Rrep specializes in services for households, microenterprises and small businesses.

K-Rep Bank offers a wide range of banking services and aims to bring microfinance into the mainstream financial services sector by demonstrating that providing financial services to low-income populations is not only commercially viable but an important aspect of poverty alleviation. The product and service offering includes group and individual loans, current and savings accounts, ATM cards, letters of credit and guarantees. Clients can access products and services at 25 branches and a network of ATMs across Kenya. The bank also makes wholesale loans to other microfinance institutions and cooperative societies that on-lend the funds to members or employees.
