Peer In-Person Exchanges

Peer In-Person Exchanges bring together bankers to meet on the ground and discuss common problems, seeking solutions through learning from each others’ experiences. Exchange draws on a range of speakers, from local senior bank managers to industry experts to discuss critical issues and synthesize participant experiences. In the past, Forums have brought together senior bank managers from countries as far-ranging as Cambodia and The Gambia, with participants often using regional forum sites for an opportunity to make field visits and learn from their colleagues from around the world. All forums are focused on delivering practitioner tools that participants then undertake to apply in their own institutions, often reporting on progress made a few months down the road. Forum outputs include CD-ROMs containing tools to address such topics as credit, operational, institutional, and product risk management, along with presentation summaries from the sessions. To access the CD-ROMs, please click here. To join the KEN program, email us.

Risk Management Forum
[Chicago, U.S.A., December 2004]

In December 2004, Exchange launched its In-Person Exchanges with a first Forum focused on Risk Management for CEOs and COOs of microfinance institutions and small business banks. The launch triggered demand for a series of peer forums where fellow bankers could share their challenges and successes. Due to the wide geographic dispersion of our partners, we decided to launch quarterly phone forums to facilitate peer learning. Exchange currently runs three Banker-to-Banker Phone Forums tailored to suit the knowledge needs of Chief Executives, Lenders, and Human Resources Managers. The one-hour teleconference discussions provide our clients with a chance to access the collective knowledge of banking experts and other forum participants. Please email us for more information on our phone Forums and how to join them.
