THE SMALL BUSINESS BANKING NETWORK (SBBN)

Launched by Exchange in late 2010, The Small Business Banking Network (SBBN) is the first global network for small business banking and microfinance institutions in developing countries to provide access to practitioner-centric resources, peer learning opportunities and a community of practitioners. The ultimate goal of this platform is to catalyze financial service provision to small businesses by enhancing the ability and commitment of these institutions to serve them. The SBBN works with and through its member institutions to strengthen human capital and incorporate banking “best practices” in small business finance institutions to enhance their effectiveness in reaching small and growing entrepreneurs profitably.

Small business is a proven driver of better economic conditions for communities but financial institutions often lack the know-how and initial support requisite to effectively address this market. Exchange’s SBBN achieves these goals by providing professional training and development, as well as access to peer networks, high quality expertise and resources, which are delivered through multiple platforms. Access to these services through membership in The Small Business Banking Network can catalyze and/or enhance small business banking practices, improving overall business performance and results.
